Let it Be to Me According to Your Word!

When the Angel Gabriel visited Mary and told her that she had been chosen by her Heavenly Father to birth his Son Jesus, Mary responded by saying, “Behold, I am a handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”

The words Mary spoke were incredibly powerful. Even though Mary had absolutely no idea how her life would be impacted for agreeing to birthing the Jewish Messiah, she was willing, because she knew her place in Yahweh’s kingdom, as his handmaid, his servant. And, she wanted, above everything else, to be used by her Heavenly Father for his Kingdom purposes.

But what Mary didn’t know is exactly how profound her words were, and that they would be written down and remembered for eternity. Mary said, “Let it be to me according to your word.” This response makes sense, as she was in agreement with what was just spoken to her, the plan that Angel Gabriel had just laid out to her. In today’s words she was saying, “Yes, I’m in, let’s do this.”

But what I find intriguing are the exact words that Mary used. She said, “Let it be to me according to YOUR WORD.” We see in the Gospel of John that Jesus is THE WORD.

“In the beginning was THE WORD, and THE WORD was with God, and THE WORD was God…And THE WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father.” (John 1:1-2,14)

Because Mary agreed to birthing Jesus, she experienced THE WORD to its fullest, like no other human who has ever walked this earth. For 9 months, Mary literally carried THE WORD inside of her womb. Week after week she felt THE WORD growing and moving inside of her. I can only imagine what that time was like for Mary.

Then, once by THE WORD was born out of her womb, she quickly came to understand just how precious THE WORD in her life truly was. Not only did she meet shepherds and wise men who worshipped THE WORD, but she also came to understand too well how Yahweh’s enemy Satan wanted to destroy THE WORD.

Outside of her womb, Mary watched THE WORD grow both physically and spiritually. For 30 years, she experienced life, with THE WORD in her home, by her side, communicating with her daily. She laughed and cried, ate, and fellowshipped with THE WORD, until THE WORD was ready for ministry. For three years, Mary then witnessed THE WORD’s ministry of GRACE and TRUTH, which was followed by powerful miracles, signs and wonders.

Unfortunately, Mary then witnessed, with her own eyes, THE WORD being painfully crucified by man. Fortunately, she then saw him rise from the dead 3 days later. On the evening of THE WORD’S resurrection, Mary personally experienced THE WORD’S gift of salvation when he personally breathed on her and the disciples and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” It was the day when THE WORD came to once again dwell inside of her. This time THE WORD would dwell inside her “spiritual womb.”

Forty day later, Mary saw THE WORD ascend into heaven to sit at the right hand of Yahweh. She heard THE WORD say, “Wait in Jerusalem until you receive a gift from my Father.” Ten days later, on the day of Pentecost, Mary personally experienced being baptized by THE WORD with the Holy Spirit and Fire, alongside the other disciples. She felt tongues of fire descend upon her when THE WORD clothed her with the power of the Holy Spirit to be his witness to the ends of the earth.

Mary then personally experienced, and witnessed, the power of the spiritual gifts of THE WORD, through the Holy Spirit, birthed through herself and other believers, so that the Good News of Jesus Christ could be spread throughout the world.

When Mary said, “Let it be to me according to YOUR WORD,” what Mary was unknowingly saying is, “Let it be to me, according to the FULLNESS OF JESUS.”

And that is exactly what happened! Mary experienced birthing the fullness of Jesus in her life, both physically and spiritually. According to John 1:14, Jesus is FULL of grace, truth, and heavenly glory!!

When Mary was told that she was chosen to birth Jesus out of her physical womb, Mary responded to the Angel Gabriel with 17 words.  The number 17 in the Bible represents VICTORY!!! Mary experienced victory in her life, because she said, “YES, I’M IN, LET’S DO THIS,” to her Heavenly Father Yahweh’s request.

Which begs the question? What is Yahweh currently asking of you? What is your reply?

I pray that you respond to your Heavenly Father by saying, “LET IT BE TO ME ACCORDING TO THE FULLNESS OF YOUR WORD!” , so that you too can experience the riches of birthing the fullness of Jesus from your spiritual womb!!!

May Yahweh bless you and keep you,
